32 children of our school went to England by coach to make own experience concerning England and especially London. Seeing all the famous sights of London by sightseeing bus, by boat on the River Thames or walking through the streets of London showed us the importance of Britain in former times and nowadays. We saw old buildings like Tower Bridge, Tower of London or Buckingham Palace, but also modern ones like London Eye, the Gherkin or Canary Wharf. The city of the Royals, the city of business and economics but also the city of poor people showed us the enormous differences between rich and poor, influence and helplessness. Old buildings full of tradition, the new skyscrapers, the shops and shopping centres, the parks like Green Park or Hyde Park were very interesting. We got an insight in the fascinating megacity of London.
The most exciting attraction for the boys was visiting Chelsea football club and I think that the girls liked the wax museum Madame Tussauds` best.
After seven days of travelling we came back home with many impressions.
It was a great journey and I liked it very much.
